On 26 September 2014, the Kingdom of Norway accessed to the “London Agreement” . For European patents granted on or after 1 January 2015, no Norwegian translation of the European patent specification need be supplied anymore. From this date, an English translation of the specification is enough, but a Norwegian translation of the claims must still be supplied.
As the 21st member of EPC to join the London Agreement, Norway helps reducing translation costs following the grant of a European patent, and offers a more economic way to validate a patent in Norway.
